Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

These spicy pumpkin seeds with a bit of spice are great for a snack or to nibble on whilst cooking dinner.  And so easy to make.  Pumpkin seeds are also a great source of zinc, so are oysters by the way but I find these seeds a much more enjoyable way to get my zinc levels up.

Ingredients:

1 cup of pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
1 large garlic clove, crushed
1/4 tsp Himalayan rock salt
pinch of crushed dried chillies
1/2 tsp raw sugar
squeeze of lemon

Simply dry-fry the pumpkin seeds for a few minutes making sure that they don’t burn.

Stir in the garlic for a couple of minutes

Mix in the chillies and salt then stir in the sugar.

Remove from the heat and then add a squeeze of lemon

Eat warm or cold; if eating cold you might like to add them to mixed nuts for a bit of a spicy kick.  If you are going to make a batch for another time, don’t add the lemon.
