If you’re looking for a jam that’s actually healthy without heaps of added sugar or artificial additives, then you are going to love this simple raspberry chia jam. Simple because it only has 4 ingredients and simple because it’s quick and easy to make.

Teamed up with slices of apple it makes a healthy snack.  The raspberries provide lots of antioxidants whilst the chia seeds are a good source of protein and omega-3s.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of raspberries (fresh or defrosted berries)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of chia seeds (I used a mix of black and white)
  • 1 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp of honey

Method:

Put all the ingredients in a small pan and stir slowly to combine over a medium heat. Squish the berries with a wooden spoon to help break them down.  Keep stirring slowly for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.

Once cooled pour into a sterilised jar and store in the fridge for a week…or a lot less in my house as it gets eaten so quickly!  It’s great with yoghurt and nuts ‘n’ seeds, jam drops, pancakes or home-made scones.
