Love hummus? Love spice? Then you’ll love this hummus.
Nothing bland or humble about this dip. This global favourite can be found in cafes from Israel to Greece with each place having its own twist on the chickpea, lemon and garlic base.
In this recipe I have added some Turkish Spices and left out the tahini; to be honest, I forgot to add it but it still tastes great so I thought I’d share it with you. If you don’t have Turkish spices then dukkah, cajun or mexican may work just as well. Keep it simple!
Ingredients:
1 400g tin of chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 garlic clove, finely chopped or minced
1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp of lemon juice
4 tbsp of water
1/2 tsp of Turkish spices
pinch of salt
Method:
Simply combine all ingredients in a food processor and mix until you reach a consistency, you’re happy with. Store in the fridge or freeze a batch for later use.
